#6 Sempre più vuoti di stomaco e voglia di partire 🛫
Ciao a tutti, eccomi di nuovo qui!
Come detto nel post scorso, ieri, Sabato 3 sono andato a Roma per fare l'Eltis Test (che a leggerlo sembra facile ma a dirlo veloce ti impicci, dettagli); Sono partito da casa verso le 14.30 e sono arrivato all'hotel verso le 16, il test ci sarebbe stato alle 17, davanti l'entrata ho incontrato Lia. Dopo essere entrati, abbiamo incontrato Luisa, Edoardo e Natalia (tre ragazzi del gruppo precedente) e ci siamo seduti nella hall per aspettare poiché mancava più di un'ora. Durante tutta l'attesa sono arrivati Eugenia e Vincenzo, Alessia, Francesca, Enrico e TANTI ALTRI (cosi tanti che ad una certa ho perso il conto) di cui l'ultima Martina (Sempre la solita, ha quasi buttato giù dal muro anche un quadro ahahah). Il test aveva una durata prestabilita, chi finiva consegnava e andava via e purtroppo non abbiamo potuto fare tante foto, in realtà solo una :

Cosa posso dire, la difficoltà del Test è soggettiva, l'Eltis è diviso in due parti:
- Listening: Varie piccole prove dove devi segnare l'alternativa corretta tra ABC sotto ogni vignetta proposta, è durata circa 35 minuti.
- Reading: Composto da tre testi seguiti da domande di comprensione, un quesito con un grafico e da una restante parte sempre a domande multiple di vario tipo, la durata di questa parte era di 40 minuti ma alcuni hanno consegnato molto prima, tranne io che sono rimasto fino alla fine tanto per essere sicuro.
ho avuto qualche difficoltà con due domande alla listening ma per il resto l'ho trovato abbastanza facile (
Una delle cose più difficili della preparazione all'Application Form, a parer mio, è stata la lettera ... come sono state di aiuto lettere di Exchange passati vorrei lasciare qui sotto la mia, come esempio nel caso dovesse servirvi (Come si dice ... Famose a Capì, gradirei non venisse copiata):
Dear Host Family,
My name is Emanuele, I’m 16 years old and I
live in a little town near Rome called Cisterna di Latina. I’ve lived here since
I was 1 and during these years, growing up, I’ve met many people, but I met the
most important ones 3 years ago; They are my bestfriends, who support me day by
day in everything. Cisterna isn’t a beautiful city, there isn’t anything, it’s
small and boring, for this reason I started travelling 3 years ago, I love
discovering new things and challenge myself. I am a guy who likes having new
experiences everyday and I want to thank you in advance because there, with
you, I’ll have many different experiences. I still haven’t realized that I’m
writing the letter for my American Host Family, I still haven’t realized that
in 10 months I will be there and it seems only yesterday I told my parents I
wanted to leave Italy to study in the USA.
Now, I’d like to tell you something about my
family:
My father, Marco, is 45 years old and he is a
surveyor; My mother, Eliana, is 41 years old and she is a teacher in middle
school and then I have a sister, she is 12 years old, I really care about her.
I’d like to have a sister or a brother of my age there in the USA, with whom to
share everything that I’m going to live there, with whom to spend my days and with
whom to stay in touch when I will be back at Italy.
I’ve been attending the Scientific Biological
High School for 3 years, I chose this specialization because this high school
is the best suited for who, like me, wants to take scientific classes at
University. I love medicine and for this reason I want to become a Surgeon, a
Neurosurgeon. At school I’ve never had any problems, I like studying and my
favorite subjects are: Biology, Philosophy and naturally English. Being the
High School in itself difficult, with subjects like chemistry and physics I
spend my afternoons studying and when I have free time I like reading a book,
watching TV Series like Grey’s Anatomy or hanging out with my friends. I
consider them like a second family, the days when we don’t have to go to school
we stay at home together watching films or having fun; We share everything, I
know everything about them and they know everything about me … there is a
strong bond which connects us and leaving them for one year will be hard.
I really like doing sports, I’m quite good at
volleyball but terrible at football. I practiced swimming for 2 years but I had
to leave it because with school I hadn’t enough time. I’ve always loved horses,
I think horses are the most beautiful animals ever, riding has always been my
passion but I couldn’t practice it because the ranch is far from my house.
Certainly you are thinking why I chose the USA
when I decided to study abroad for my fourth year, well, like medicine, the USA
have been my dream since I was a child, I’ve always wanted to go to New York,
to study in an American High School, to become familiar with your own culture,
to live in a warm place like Florida or California (I love warm places ahaha)
and to build a second life there … everything is coming true and besides
thanking my parents for permitting me to live this, I’d like to thank you, the
people with whom I’m going to live for 10 months, the people who will make my
dreams come true and for this I’ll never be grateful enough!
I’m looking forward to landing in New York, I
can’t wait to meet you and meet every single person who lives in your town (You
should have understood that I’m a really friendly type)

forward to receiving the message which will notify I have been chosen!!!

Diciamo che sono abbastanza soddisfatto anche perché se avesse fatto schifo non l'avrei mai inserita sull'Application Online ahahaha, spero di non aver fatto nessun errore!!
Appena saprò qualcosa sui risultati dell'Eltis Test farò un post a riguardo 😏
